Superdimension Neptunia: Goddess Communications (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ ~めがみつうしん~, Chōjigen Geimu Neputūnu ~Megami Tsuushin~) is one of many manga series of the Neptunia series. It takes place in a weird universe where the CPUs are called "Hard Drives" and is the only sequel to the first game.
After the events of Hyperdimension Neptunia, Neptune and Blanc get kicked out of Celestia for being dumb lazy fucks. The series consists entirely of almostly completely unconnected incidents, usually where Neptune and a bunch of random other characters Histoire selected by throwing darts were sent on a quest to do something. There are a lot of fanservice chapters as well, such as the New Year's chapter where for the first and last time Neptune actually attempts to eat the food of the damned, eggplants, and the mandatory beach chapter.
As the series coincides with the releases of Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, the author sneaked in content from those games and made up stuff to work it into the first game's canon. The CPU candidates teleport into existence in Chapter 9 with absolutely no explanation of their absence in the previous 8 chapters. Plutia shows up at the beginning of Chapter 24, followed by Peashy in the next chapter, both introduced as "ancient hard drives." At the end of Chapter 23, the clothes of the four main CPUs explode, and Histoire gives them new outfits, identical to the ones the Ultradimension CPUs wear. Histoire also starts cosplaying as Ultradimension Histoire in the next chapter. As stuff like this happens, the author quickly forgets characters from the first game, such as Nisa, ever existed.
